Gamer’s Update: August 20th

-Quite a few new Assassin’s Creed 2 screenshots have emerged. While they’re certainly beautiful, they also give new perspectives into fresh gameplay. Here’s one demonstrating new weapons:

-A lot of people became worried when Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIII would be released on the 360 alongside the PS3 (not to mention the angry PS fans). The problem is that FF XIII is such a high caliber game that it requires a blu-ray disc to fit it all of the game onto 1 disc. Square Enix’s Yoshinori Kitase commented on this saying: “This isn’t the final count yet, but we’re aiming for about three discs.” The team also says they’re trying to compress it as much as they can, while still retaining the quality of the game.

-BIOSHOCK 2 is on the way, but it’s taking some time to complete the game. Expect to see it within the first quarter of 2010, or shown off at the PAX East show next year (in Boston).

-A while back we gave notice to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized for the Nintendo DS. Here’s the official trailer :

BioShock 2 Gameplay

G4 has recently done some interviews with the Bioshock team on gameplay, so I thought some gameplay video would be nice.

Bioshock 2 is going to have Multiplayer

BioShock-2-Big-Sister-Game-Informer-Cover

Coming this fall, Bioshock 2 will feature a Multiplayer mode, but it won’t have Cooperative play. The rumor originally started from the details of Bioshock 2 at Game Informers, and it is now a fact.

These are words from 2K Games Press Release:

Multiplayer in BioShock 2 provides a rich prequel experience that expands the origins of the BioShock fiction. Set during the fall of Rapture, players assume the role of a Plasmid test subject for Sinclair Solutions, a premier provider of Plasmids and Tonics in the underwater city of Rapture that was first explored in the original BioShock. Players will need to use all the elements of the BioShock toolset to survive as the full depth of the BioShock experience is refined and transformed into a unique multiplayer experience that can only be found in Rapture.

Yes, these words reveal that the Multiplayer is going to be a prequel to the first Bioshock. Oh COOL! In the Multiplayer Mode, you’ll play as a citizen of Rapture and earn experience points during your matches, which you can cash in to earn new Plasmids, Tonics, and weapons. Honestly, Uncharted 2 and Bioshock 2 were the last games I would have expected a Multiplayer for. Next thing you know, Ubisoft does the same with Assassin’s Creed 2.
